• Recommendation:

  That West Elgin Council hereby receives the report from Bryan Pearce, Planner, regarding the consent application, File E5-22 – Comments to County of Elgin (Planning Report 2022-02);

  And that West Elgin Council hereby recommends approval to the Land Division Committee of the County of Elgin for the consent application, File E5-22, subject to the Lower-Tier Municipal conditions in Appendix Two of this report;

  And further that West Elgin Council directs Administration to provide this report as Municipal comments to the County of Elgin.

• Recommendation:

E. Jocius, Operations & Community Services Coordinator - Celebration and Commemoration Reopening Fund Grant Partnership

• Recommendation:

  That West Elgin Council hereby receives the report from Emily Jocius, Operations and Community Services Coordinator re: Celebration and Commemoration Reopening Fund Grant Partnership with Dutton Dunwich; and

  That West Elgin Council hereby supports West Elgin and Dutton Dunwich partnering for The Celebration and Commemoration Program Grant for COVID-19 Community Kindness

• Recommendation:

  That West Elgin Council hereby receives the report from Lee Gosnell, Manager of Operations & Community Services for information purposes

8.3.1

J. Nethercott, Clerk - TVDSB Trustee Distribution for 2022-2026

• Recommendation:

  That West Elgin Council hereby receives the report from J. Nethercott, Clerk re: TVDSB Trustee Distribution for 2022-2026; and

  That West Elgin Council hereby supports the designation of Middlesex County by Board Resolution as a low population municipality; and

  
  That West Elgin Council hereby supports the following Thames Valley District School Board Trustee Distribution for the 2022-2026 term:

  • Two (2) Trustees representing Middlesex County
  • Two (2) Trustees representing Oxford County
  • Two (2) Trustees representing Elgin County
  • Six (6) Trustees representing the City of London
  • One (1) Indigenous Trustee appointed per Ontario Regulation 462/97;

    That the Mayor send advocacy letters to ensure equitable representation that balances the rural interests within the geography of the Thames Valley District School Board to the Minister of Education, the Honourable Stephen Lecce; the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Honourable Steve Clark; and Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek; and

    That the same letter be sent to Thames Valley District School Board Trustee Chair Lori-Ann Pizzalato and the Director of Education Mark Fisher, requesting that a copy of this motion and letter be considered as correspondence at the next Board of Trustee’s meeting, prior to the Board’s decision with respect to the composition of the 2022-2026 Board of Trustees

West Elgin Community Centre Board of Management

• Recommendation:

  That West Elgin Council hereby endorses the recommendation from the West Elgin Community Centre Board of Management to establish a school rental rate for practices and all schools in Dutton Dunwich and West Elgin for use during non-prime time ice rental period at $55 plus applicable taxes; and

  That staff be directed to amend the Fees and Charges By-law to reflect this new fee.

• Recommendation:

  That By-law 202-03 being a By-law to confirm the proceeding of the Regular Meeting of Council held on January 27, 2022, be read a first, second and third and final time.
